HostHunt
A reverse marketplace for stays — guests post, hosts compete.

HostHunt flips the rental marketplace on its head. Instead of guests trawling endless listings, guests post what they need — destination, dates, budget, must-haves — and hosts compete with bids to win the booking. More leverage for travellers, warmer leads for hosts.
Try it
I built and hosted the marketing landing here — front-end only, no live backend.

What I built
A full-stack web app split into three surfaces — guests, hosts and moderators — each with its own dashboard. Guests create stay requests; an hourly matching service routes them to relevant hosts; hosts bid; the two sides settle it over in-platform chat. React + TypeScript on the front end, a Node back end, Firebase for auth, and Stripe / Plaid for payments and identity verification.
My role
Founder and lead engineer — product definition, the reverse-bid model, the data model (guests, hosts, properties, bids, reviews), and the front-end build, with some contract help on delivery.
Status
A working concept under active development. The hosted page above shows the product positioning; the app itself is private while it takes shape.
